I laughed my ass off at the expression on his face.

(112,660 posts)but for three of them to be on the stage at the same time? That was a very basic sports trivia question, particularly if you are over 50 years old. I'm surprised that none of them even ventured to take a guess.

(46,373 posts)Only mention I can think of offhand outside of sports discussions is this MST3K clip.

(112,660 posts)However, I will say that if you go to Trivia Night at a bar nearly every table would have given the correct answer.

(46,373 posts)Nothing like those division rivalries to get the blood boiling.
The NFC North teams are located fairly close to each other so I'm certain that the trash talk is more intense.

(112,660 posts)We would even have discussions in the family the few times when both teams stood a chance of getting through the playoffs to our hypothetical Super Bowl.
I also might make you envious by noting that the one year I bought season tickets for the Cowboys was the year that Emmitt Smith broke the NFL rushing record against Seattle. I had seats on the second row of the upper deck near one of the goal lines at Texas Stadium.

(12,132 posts)I've been to many single games over the years, the first being the time when I was in 4th grade and my dad took me to Texas stadium and Roger Staubach had one of his famous come from behind victories against the Eagles. Unfortunately, the last 2 games I've been able to attend were both ass-whoopings. I was at the Saints game several years ago (still in the old stadium so maybe more than several) when they beat us by like 11 million points. The only good thing about that one was I was a guest of one of our vendors who had a suite and I had access to free beer and BBQ to help drown my sorrow.
The last game I saw in person was in Denver. I flew out for 70 bucks on stand-by to go to the game with a friend who has Broncos season tickets and knew how much a Cowboys fan I am. He enjoyed that visit more than I did but, again, Denver and surrounding areas contain a TON of great breweries and he brought me to them all lol.
Wait, I may have seen them in Tampa a time or two between those games. At least we won those games!
And yes, we grew up hoping for an all-Texas Superbowl. Seems neither team could coordinate both being good in any 1 year.
Cheers and here's hoping for some good years to come!

(13,657 posts)Fab Four. I don't watch all the time, but have a lot. In all the years watching, that was the only time I would for sure have ran the table on a category.

The fact that none of the three contestants could answer what I would consider to be general trivia (whether music or sports) makes me wonder if the contestants just kept their heads buried in a book.

(112,660 posts)but the only time I watched the Vikings was when they played Dallas and that was a long time ago. Once again, this clips begs the question, "Where do they find these people?"
If there are any lurkers from Free Republic, then they are probably getting a good laugh and calling us "libt**ds" or something more disrespectful as we discuss sports . The contestant that was on the screen the most in that video clip looks somewhat to me in high school with the glasses and T-shirt showing underneath the collar.

(112,660 posts)I'm certain that these contestants are knowledgeable on many topics, but it does make me wonder if they have "people" skills when they can't respond to general trivia questions.

Katie Couric was also awesome, IMO.

Three of those NFL Championships preceded the first Super Bowl, btw. After 1969, the NFL Championship became the NFC Championship, and the winner of the Super Bowl, became the NFL Championship.

He has done much better than I expected him to do. There's still something missing. Same is true for Couric and Jennings.
Maybe I just miss Trebek too much.
