8. Good timing...as an expert on the subject, can you say that vodka is a low-carb food?

My better half is insisting I consume too many carbs. I need a good end-of-week beverage where I can state with a straight face that experts agree it's not loaded with carbs. Any thoughts?

9. Straight up run-of-the-mill vodka has zero carbs.

If you get one of the fancy flavors (vanilla, cake, and whipped cream are three favorites), the carb count can go up.

Also, why do bars insist on using ‘ sweet and sour mix’ in Margaritas when the recipe is:

1 1/2 oz high quality silver tequila
3/4 oz triple sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier
Juice of 1/2 lime

Shake, strain, serve up. That’s it. Nada mas!

12. Kinda got ya beat.......had a couple of bottled cosmos from "on the rocks" brand of

pre mixed cocktails.......the cosmopolitan is absolutely perfect to the taste. It’s a tad darker pink then I like, but it tastes very, very, good.

I was living in a tiny studio apartment at the time. I drove a beater car, and I seemed to be dead-ending my life.

Frozen pizza, boxed wine, and "The Godfather" were about as good as it got for me back then.

My life is a lot less simple now, but it's nice not to have to struggle every day...
