This is a stunningly detailed article about the TV painters William Alexander and Bob Ross, with the focus on what happened to Ross and his estate. I used to watch these guys on PBS with my mom a long time ago. I had no idea the massive history between and behind these two PBS superstars.

2. I've been watching Painting with John on HBO

With musician, actor, artist John Lurie from the Lounge Lizards. I confess I didn't know who Bob Ross was until the first episode called "Bob Ross was Wrong". In it he is painting trees and he says "These are not happy trees." Now I know what meant.
