I've come to the realization my CD player needs to be cleaned. Anyone have a recommendation for a disk that works? I'm not going to try to take it apart so I'm looking for the easiest way.
Thanks

(20,878 posts)You run it though your CD player(s) and it fixes them up most of the time.
You should be doing this often especially if you watch/listen to CDs a lot.
They don't cost much and an assortment of brands you have to choose from.
Best of luck.

(4,999 posts)Why do you think the CD player needs to be cleaned, is the audio messed up with perfectly clean & unscratched CD's ?
If the inside of the player looks dusty (and you think dust may be on top of the laser head, then consider getting a can of compressed air and vigorously blow out the space, and directly blow on the laser head if you can see it.

(16,192 posts)a lot of skipping and bad starts. I've had the player, Kenwood CD-204, for about 10 years and never ran a cleaner disc through it so I'm going to path of least resistance before further dismantling.

(20,878 posts)Wow you got lucky!
I'd get me a CD head cleaner!
It fixes problems like you are having usually.
Its done me good more than once and I have several CD/DVD players, laptops included!
