Not that I disagree with it -- I just never had it. never even knew it was a thing to have. But it sounds interesting.

I rinse them pretty thoroughly, but they still add a mild salinity to whatever tea (usually green) I add them to.

I do occasionally add flowers or other plant matter, but I'm basically a straight up tea man.
