Why is the boat trailer detached from the vehicle in the first place? And in the water with the boat still on it no less. In addition to the obvious, there's a long and interesting story of things gone terribly wrong behind that clip. The humor and nuttiness of the boat ramp. An American, summer time tradition.

Perhaps the insurance was getting hot on the car and it needed cooling down. It is certainly a way to push the boat out without getting your feet wet.

If the boat operator had been on the ball, he would have fired up those dual outboards and pushed the car back in while pushing was an option.
