A less scary thought. . . Are you here in the West? I started getting a headache yesterday as the smoke started coming over the mountain, and burning in my throat today as it is getting heavier.

But go get tested!

Since you’re vaccinated it’s not COVID. Remember we all got sick before COVID. Could be strep. Wait a day then go see your doctor.

less than optimal immune response, including many older people who might seem fully healthy otherwise. Immune function does diminish with age.

Not trying to burst your bubble and these are highly effective vaccines, but there is no such thing as a 100% effective vaccine in all people (or all animals for that matter). Individuals vary in both susceptibility to the virus AND response to the vaccine.

IF it is COVID-19 the odds are in their favor that the poster will have only mild illness, but they should be tested. Now that many are not masking, colds and other respiratory viruses, along with allergies are an issue again. But so too is Delta strain COVID-19, so testing is indicated.

I was shocked to see it was 99.1, Second time, 99.1, third time, 99.4. Oh God. I callled my boss. Yes, i felt achy, but no other symptoms. She told me to fill out the form online for health care workers, but when I did, I realized if my temp wasn’t over 100, its not reportable. But also there was that achiness. I laid down for a bit and tried to rest. Just in case all I needed was rest. I got up 30minutes later and temp had decreased to 98.2. I called my boss, told her I was going to work. No, she said, wait a while and check it again. I did. It decreased to 98. I got ready and went to work. During the day we got one hell of a thunder storm. THAT explained the achiness. I think I took my temp very close to the time when I got out of the shower this morning, which I’ve never done before. As the day progressed, temp go down to my normal 97.6.

The point is, it might just be a sore throat. Lots of reasons for symptoms besides Covid, but keep the temp checked.

I caught a cold. I live in 65+ community. When I went to get my mail, I coughed. People ran away from me. My point is, even during Covid, people still get plain old sore throats and colds.
