What’s the best sitcom past or present?

hmmm.... There are a lot of good ones but I think I'm going to go with my current favorite (which gets it's final episode this Wed) Mr Inbetween. If you have not seen it, watch it, I can't wait to see how it ends

I think of a few sitcoms that seem to have about a 3 to 4 year span of being real funny, but then the writers seem to burn out.

Big Bang Theory seemed to last longer than that - maybe 7 to 8 years.
The early years of All In The Family were really good. At about that same time Mary Tyler Moore was excellent.

The three iterations of Bob Newhart all had great periods.

The Simpsons has really gone through many dips and peaks over the years.
