And before you ask, yes, I'm out of vodka...
Got a few more dribbles of wine.
But it's G&T tonight.
What a crazy week in clinic. I wouldn't have made it if it hadn't been for you guys...
I love you all...

(66,327 posts)I can no longer donate blood. I'm in the category of risk factors for exposure to Creutzfeld-Jakob disease. Until they get an office test to assess for exposure (which will be never), I can't donate blood. It's ridiculous. I donated a pint of blood every three months for three years after getting out of the Army.
Then suddenly, twenty years ago, they told me, no can do.
Just another reason to drink, I guess...

(3,607 posts).... I have some anti-vaxer friends on Facebook.
I'm very careful when talking to them. I don't want to call them morons (even though I think they are), instead, I try a different angle to get through to them. More like asking them questions (rarely get answers). Anyway, it is subtle, but I stay true to myself, and try to be a 'True North' for them should they ever come back from the fascist fever they are under right now. So here is my question, do you think posting this on facebook would be Too Much?

(25,852 posts)Here's how I make them.
Mostly fill up the glass with ice. Squeeze in some lime. I cut the lime in half, then cut the half into four quarters, and squeeze one of those. Then a jigger of gin. Two jiggers of a good tonic. Lately I've been buying Q or Fever Tree. Most people who have one of my gin and tonics claim it's the best they ever had.
I've also recently discovered some new gins. Right now I'm finishing a bottle of 3 Howls, navy strength, made in Seattle. I'm also exceedingly fond of Raffles, which is a Scottish gin, but they were out of at the liquor store recently, so an employee turned me loose on the 3 Howls. Life is good.
Love you, too.

(3,600 posts)Take a chilled glass. Fill it with dry vermouth. Pour the vermouth back into the bottle. Fill with gin. Add 1 olive.
Better would be drie vinger of Jankel Swart. That is three fingers of Johnny Walker Black.

(66,327 posts)When the Martini is on the rocks, the trick is to fill the glass with Vermouth, then pour it back into the bottle and refill with gin. The Vermouth clinging to the ice is all the Vermouth you need, according to experts.
