Layman dealing with pandemic paranoia: Home grown fever & sensory taste - do these work?

O.K., bear with me. Am fully Pfizer since February (getting into some kind of danger zone?). With the daily news, before blaming me, cut me a break about the creeping anxiety. Btw, besides being Fully, am going to start testing, maybe bi-monthly.

So. Meanwhile.

Mock if you must but all these months I've been:

* patting the back of my hands to forehead and lower cheeks to test for possible fever. Is this anything?

* Also, extra noticing about the tastes of food stuffs, on the premise that loss of taste/smell are something?

So far have only alarmed myself if I seem to feel flushed, but the taste has been fine to the point of gaining even more weight from all that testing?

*** Let the mocking and sarcasm proceed!1 But can you blame me?

Every cough and sneeze, let alone the more obscure symptoms - like smell or taste. I have had sinus issues, have been going to an ENT for awhile, but as a result I can't smell very well - plus I sneeze which is definitely not a Covid symptom, and I've been vaccinated since the end of March - but these days we worry about every symptom.

had apple cinnamon bagels with creme cheese, this little piggie had none.

This nursery rhyme may have a double entendre. Little piggie went to Whole Foods to fetch his bagels and creme cheese. Not to get knackered. That's depressingly dark.

and every time I feel flushed or feverish it's a false alarm. (thought the thing was broken, so got another one and it's the same).

We are all paranoid. This happens every time there's a health scare. Other scares, too.

Just wondered whether the back of the hand on self worked. Strangely, have seemed cool to the touch even when feeling flushed. Plus at all the places where they do the temperature gun at the door I've always been cleared through.

Yesterday I had a bit of a runny nose, felt maybe a little under the weather but it's so hot could be that instead? Last night I got a mouth full of congestion, while coughing and having runny nose. Me - damn, are the state testing sites still open? Wasn't worried until I saw the results that happened in MA with breakthroughs, now am getting a little concerned. I have allergies and always have congestion, always, but I dont feel sick. My oxygen levels are normal and my heart rate is normal and both of those were affected when I had CV19. Today my nose isnt running and I'm not coughing. I think maybe I was dehydrated last night so will just drink extra water today and see what happens. If I feel weird again, I will find a testing place. Sons partner and my sister are both immunocompromised, so have to be very careful for them.

Have had bouts of runny nose (lots), isolated coughs but not dry, no sore throat. Adding bouts of loose bowel/diarrhea?

"so hot could be that instead?" - That's the problem, the *doubt* that spooks us, like, is it something or is it benign?!

*********** "Are the state testing sites still open?" - I don't know whether they are state, but in my area there are tons of places advertising, don't know whether they are into the insurance thing or are "free". The one I'm going to go to is at the health department of a state university, so I guess it's state. They do it M-F evenings in the car.
