Question for Mandalorian fans.

I just finished the first two seasons and really enjoyed it, although I also agree with people who complain that they sometimes sacrifice the story by leaning too hard on nostalgia and plots obviously intended to create more merchandising.

That said, here's my question - are we supposed to know all about the history of Mandalorians? The show keeps referring to the destruction of Mandalore, fighting between two different sects of Mandalorians, and the fact that some are bounty hunters and some are not. They also allude to conflicts with the Jedi. Is that history explained anywhere, or is it intentionally being kept mysterious for future episodes?

While the show is definitely approachable from the standpoint of those who only know "Star Wars" through the theatrical releases, the show itself is written and run by folks who were behind a large amount of Star Wars lore found in the animated series "Clone Wars" and "Rebels". Both of those series heavily referenced and details the events on Madalore and introduced characters like Bo Katan and Ashoka Tano that were brought back for "The Mandalorian" series. For a while, Disney+ had a collection of like ten episodes of those animated series which laid the foundation for the Mandalorian lore and helped explain the significance of those characters to folks who were familiar. I'll see if I can find the list for you because they really do add depth to "Mandalorian".

The Return of The Jedi and well before The Force Awakens. Years before Luke Skywalker goes into exile.

Loved it too.
