A few of the ferals made a quick breakfast visit but didn't really eat much before they totally disappeared. Now Sophie Stinky Toes has gone to her secret hiding spot that I've never been able to find.
I walked around the yard and thought I heard a really faint meowing but I couldn't pin point where it was coming from - or if that's actually what I was hearing. I'm about to head out, again, and walk the back lot.
And it's dead quiet, outside. No wind, no bird song, no nothing.
Weird. Just weird.

(26,262 posts)That gave me a little relief.
I do worry about raptors. I found some sort of raptor feather in the back lot, not too long ago. And, Mittens has a habit of doing night time wanderings so I worry about owls or even if we might have some coyote coming through the neighborhood, at night. There's a large wooded area, not to far from me and I've heard they've been spotted in other parts of the county.
It's all nature, but sometimes I get mad at nature.

(25,938 posts)I dont believe that part of Michigan has earthquakes or tremors very often. Cats have been known to alert people to seismic activity.

(26,262 posts)Any earthquake activity I've felt originated from many, many miles away. Michigan is supposedly in an area that is relatively quake fault free.
Regardless, it just feels weird, outside. I took my walk around the property, and it seems the only thing active, right now, are mosquitoes.

(86,597 posts)Most cats I have known in quake prone areas knew about it before one happened in most cases.
