I've seen a lot of videogamers exerting themselves far more than some of the more sedentary Olympic sports, like archery and shooting.
And what videogames would be in the Olympics?
"Super Smash Brothers?"

(145,168 posts)You would not believe how much it costs to buy a franchise for an esports team. A franchise for Overwatch costed $20 million a couple of years ago and it cost more for Call of Duty franchise last year. There is an annual tournament for a game called Defense of the Ancient where the prize pool a couple of years ago was over $30 million with the winning team getting $8 million
In South Korea the fill up stadiums for people watching tournaments.

(54,770 posts)synchronized swimming, etc. Videogames would be worse.
And neither should a whole lot of other hyperactive crap like breakdancing and skateboarding, BMX, synchronised anything or horse dancing.
The world would be a happier place if only I were in charge of it.
