You know they marked it up by 0% before putting it on sale for 0% off. Oldest trick in the book.

A few years back they got in trouble for marking clothes up in price,
and then putting it 'on sale' at the original price.

They will have an item occasionally like a can of beans or something marked down a miniscule amount. Normally $2.19 & now on sale for something like $2.09. Funny thing is that the shelf is completely cleared out. Of course it seems like that is always something I have on my list, so I can't buy any.

putting a big sign like 7 cans for only $3.50!
When you look under the sign the regular price is $.50 per can - the very same price.

They usually use an odd number because apparently Americans can't do math with odd numbers in their heads such as '3 for $1.59" when the regular price is $.53

Is it 0 times the current price and subtract that from the current price?
Or is it 100 times the current price and that is it.

I was never good at story problems.
