(63,221 posts)That inclination is so foreign to me. I avoid being the center of attention. It took me forever just to work up the courage to post here on DU. I felt so exposed, and people probably didn't even notice my early posts since they were so bland and innocuous.
Now that I am a bit more comfortable here (after about 18 years) it's a little easier to be myself, but I still don't post many OPs. Mainly I just respond to other people's posts. I would certainly NEVER exploit an animal or another person to get attention. I just find it sick.
