and not being a yt, attention, or social-media whore, it never would have dawned on me that anyone would put an animal in a dangerous position for clicks, likes, money, subscribers, etc.

14. I have kind of found it shocking what so many people will do for attention and fame.

That inclination is so foreign to me. I avoid being the center of attention. It took me forever just to work up the courage to post here on DU. I felt so exposed, and people probably didn't even notice my early posts since they were so bland and innocuous.

Now that I am a bit more comfortable here (after about 18 years) it's a little easier to be myself, but I still don't post many OPs. Mainly I just respond to other people's posts. I would certainly NEVER exploit an animal or another person to get attention. I just find it sick.

where a teenager makes hundreds of thousands per year from his social-media "pranks". Some are dangerous, he's abusive to neighbors, he hit his head or something once.

And he's getting rich from this stupid shit
