in the late 60's.

She wouldn't look at us when we picked her up, and hid in a closet for a few days.

She was making us feel guilty, but after 3-4 days she was back to her normal loving self.

They're smarter than we give them credit for.

And he particularly loved my father. My Dad got a kick out of it, since he knew it wouldn't last, while my mother was a little insulted. It lasted for less than a day, but the pup made his feelings known. It was my job back then to pick them up using my Dad's car and he'd drive home, so I always brought the dog with me.
