8. We left our female Poodle at the vets for about a week when we went to Disneyland...

She wouldn't look at us when we picked her up, and hid in a closet for a few days.

She was making us feel guilty, but after 3-4 days she was back to her normal loving self.

They're smarter than we give them credit for.

15. Our dog (Cairn Terrier) would ignore my parents when they came home from a trip

And he particularly loved my father. My Dad got a kick out of it, since he knew it wouldn't last, while my mother was a little insulted. It lasted for less than a day, but the pup made his feelings known. It was my job back then to pick them up using my Dad's car and he'd drive home, so I always brought the dog with me.
