and that's fine by me with what I'm hearing. However...
We're about an hour away from the mid-day news. The local news will cover this story on the mid-day news.
They will cover on the evening news.
It will be covered on "Patriots Game Day" that comes on every Friday evening during football season (at 7:30 pm when it's time for me to watch Jeopardy).
Local news has been on the air for more than an hour talking about this... interrupting MORE stuff that I usually watch.
Yep, I'm complaining about the TV again. I never get the tennis or hockey on the broadcast networks. But, last week they interrupted my usual shows to cover a golf tournament that had been postponed due to weather.
And now, a full hour of more interruptions to cover a story that's going to be covered in the news all week long anyway.
Socially distancing due to pandemic and get used to watching certain things. They can stream the football news online.

(16,006 posts)I would think ESPN would be the place to show all things sports. Networks should show exclusively dramas and comedies, game shows, reality if they want. The news has a segment focused on sports and thats ok. Heck if the 6:30 news wants to discuss a sports story. Good on them. But to interrupt normal programming should not happen.

(38,583 posts)I like watching NFL football on Sundays.
I don't think March Madness should preempt dramas and sitcoms.

(5,335 posts)I had a feeling they would do this. Cam wasn't impressive last year or in preseason this year. Belichick is all about the future and knows it's better to get the rookie experience. Can was merely a fill in to get them thru last year.
Cam will be just fine. If he doesn't get picked up by another team, he's got all the millions he earned to enjoy a nice retirement.
