Watch a school board get pranked, Bart Simpson style
A Virginia school board appeared to have been fooled by the sort of prank that would have gotten cartoon character Bart Simpson into trouble. During a hearing last week, board chair Roscoe D. Cooper III found himself reading off the names of what he likely thought were concerned citizens waiting to speak. His list, likely submitted by a prankster, was instead made-up of names that sound like silly and sometimes obscene terms when read aloud.
A pastor with two children in the Henrico County Public School system, Cooper somehow didnt have a cow when his roll call became a joke more than three hours into the session.
Phil McCracken, Cooper said, looking for someone in the crowd to approach the microphone and speak. Phil McCracken? Cooper continued reading, seemingly without realizing what was happening. No one else on the board is heard reacting either. But the meeting was videotaped. Eileen Dover, Cooper said, waiting again for someone to step-up to the microphone. Don Keydick, he continued. Again, there was no response. He also had no luck locating Wayne Kerr.
Its unclear who was responsible for the prank. Cooper has not responded to a request for comment. On the long-running animated comedy The Simpsons, bratty character Bart Simpson frequently crank calls a local tavern asking for fictional people like Amanda Hugandkiss for the purpose of getting cranky barkeep Moe to embarrass himself by shouting out those names.
