The after dinner clean up/grooming session took place on my lap, tonight, and it was as all paws on deck. Unfortunately, it's time to taken them up to the play room for the night, so that I can make something to eat, and then Sophie can take their place on my lap.

(26,263 posts)When I take the two I'm keeping in for their next vaccinations, next month, I'm going to find out when I can get that done. And I have no doubt Squeaky's new mom will be doing the same.

(205,405 posts)And he had me bring him in around Thanksgiving for neutering. I'm guessing that it's a different timetable for females, though the other 3 cats I've had in my life were all females, they were all older when I adopted them and already spayed.

(26,263 posts)The 'in heat' behavior can be a problem. Boudicca, who was already very territorial, became a terror when in heat, if she saw any cat other than Sophie. I mean uncontrollable aggression towards everyone and everything. After she was spayed she'd still act out, but not nearly as violently.

(205,405 posts)And he's been my only male. So I took him to the vet right away and did whatever he recommended. He said it was important to get him neutered at a certain time, so he must have been neutered at about 5 months? I found him during the second week of August and the vet thought he was just about 7 weeks - and the he said I should get him neutered at around Thanksgiving. And all of my cats have been strictly indoor. Poor little Felix spent enough time outside on his own.

(26,263 posts)Can't remember what it is. I'm going to be getting both done as soon as they meet the requirements, but especially Madoc. I don't want to have to deal with any spraying and I've been told the best way to help avoid that is get them neutered as soon as possible.

My very first pic of him - when I first brought him home. I'm sure you know that it was not easy to catch him for a picture...

(528 posts)You'd be the best kitten foster ever, if you decide sometime you need more babies. Animal shelters often use fosters.

(26,263 posts)Having 4 kittens in the house has been hard on her. I kept them separate for the first 2 weeks and things were 'ok' but once I started bringing them into the den, she didn't take it well. I just couldn't leave the kittens in that room 24/7.
I'm taking her to the vet, today or tomorrow, just to make sure it's kitten stress that's causing her lack of appetite. She was really stress grooming until I started her on CBD. That's let up, significantly.

(528 posts)They're almost 3 now. I hate that I made her unhappy. So tell me about CBD for cats.

(26,263 posts)She's not fond of the process. Of course today she was at the vet's so she was already stressed. Me trying to stick an eye dropper in her mouth and squirt liquids into her didn't go very well.
Oh, and she's sleeping better at night so she's not waking me up 3 and 4 times. Now she waits until she hears me, if I get up, and then she visits for some scritches before she heads off to go back to sleep on the porch.
I'll try it. Catnip seems to help mine, and so does Calm spray.
