I put this in the top ten of all animated movies I've ever seen.

And yes, a very, very good animated film.

(38,421 posts)...There is an interview with a couple of strangers about the "Iron Giant"...The "Strangers" are interviewed for only a couple
of minutes, then the movie moves on. Most people don't know that those two strangers were two of the most well known
animators that were living at the time.. "Frank" and "Ollie," the two trainmen that Kent interviews after the derailment, are caricatures of Disney classic animators Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston.
..Brad Bird purposely put in that interview for the purpose of having those animators appear in an animated film..
Frank Thomas worked on these Disney Films at this link:
https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0858826/?ref_=fn_al_nm_1
Ollie Johnson worked on these Disney Films at this link:
https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0426508/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0
So, It was no mistake that these two so called "trainmen" were interviewed for the movie..(that scene goes by so fast, most people don't even notice it...& most people could care less about that scene... unless you know these two person's backgrounds[)

This was one of my kids' favorite movies when they were young. And not bad for the parents either.

(4,533 posts)People were surprised when in 2010 Brad Bird was selected to direct Mission Impossible IV, since Bird had only done animations. But Tom Cruise said he was confidant that Bird was the right choice. He said that if you were really familiar with Birds work you would understand that he has an incredible story sense, and that he is great at creating action sequences. And that he also has excellent wit.
