Why, when you donate money to

human and (other) animal charities, do they send you free tee shirts, stuffed toys, etc. as a thank you? Don't those cost them money?

Charities. I don’t donate to them and never have. It’s all a guilt strategy. I used to feel guilty about the possibility of using them and would throw them away. Not any longer. I just use them and move on.
