The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsOur dream legally came true today.
We are now legal residents of Costa Rica.
This dream as taken 15 years to come true.
So many hoops and detours to get to this day.
Wooo.
I was going to post pics but our internet is slow and questionable.
So all you DUers that were rooting for us thanks.
Love you all and the whole world today. Wooo

(3,705 posts)May I assume the 15 years includes the pre-move time you desired and planned, or is that 15 years in Costa Rica?
J and I arrived in Uruguay on 90 day tourist visas, with all our papers in hand with appropriate apostille.
We arrived, homeless, with 6 suitcases and a plan.
That was three and a half years ago.
We were at the Dirección Nacional De Migracion before the end of our first month here.
About 15 months after arrival, we had the joy of receiving our 'residente legal' cedulas.
It feels good!
