there. (I can't vouch for how recently - or in what proportion - relating strictly to 'sideline apparel.') But in a larger context, camo apparel has been super popular, and seen all over the place, for - quite a long time.

I think it is National Guard related, but I might be misremembering or out of date...
In conjunction with that they do/did pregame "support the troops" bullshit and camo-NFL gear.
The target recruitment pool for the all-volunteer meat grinder and football fandom has a very big overlap.
