Where his arm is wrenched around his head? That was no fake limb, that was Cox's actual arm. He suffered a dislocation accident when he was young which allowed him to stretch that arm out and about. I only found out that bit of gruesome trivia recently.

I had heard that Paul Newman spent some time in West Virginia among the locals to get the accent down. The context was that that's where he thought the Luke character came from. The author of the book, which was somewhat autobiographical, Donn Pearce, was born in a suburb of Philadelphia, but did time on a chain gang in Florida. Thanks for your answer.

That year, the regular players walked out after week three, and replacement players were hired by the owners to play for the next 3 weeks until the strike was settled by week seven.
The Washington Redskins replacement players won all three games they played in
(weeks 4,5 & 6)

Name one of the three NFL teams they defeated during that 3-week period.
The last game they played as replacements was on Monday Night Football (ABC)

the story was supposed to set in the central valley town Lucas grew up in. Modesto would be my guess without jumping into Wiki.

Pat Paulsen played basketball in the same gymnasium when they held the sock hop.



Pat scored 36 points that year, second highest on the team. They passed the ball around a lot.

It's a photo he posted on one of presidential campaign web pages years ago. It's definitely from Tamalpais High school because I recognize the coach, George Gustafson, my freshman gym teacher. Kinda off topic, but George Gustafson mentored Jack LaLanne way, way back in the day.

We saw that film a long time ago, and I think it had to do somehow with South American Jesuit Settlements
and Fr. Berrigan was a Jesuit, so that's my guess.

That happened at the Dozen’s camp, when Breed had broken in to try to find out what the mission was. Breed first started in on Pinkley. After Franko told Pinkley not to tell Breed anything, Breed turned his attention on Franko.

The song is “When The Tigers Broke Free.” It’s how Roger’s father died. The rest of the band didn’t want it on the record because it was too personal. It got in the movie to explain why Pink was the way he was.
