I found this somewhat comforting.

My dear friend from college passed away nearly two years ago from a heart attack in her sleep. Her family just had her memorial a little more than a month ago. (I traveled from NJ to Virginia roundtrip in one day for it.)

I was clearing out voicemails on my phone just now. And I found a voicemail from my friend 3+ years ago, wishing me a happy birthday.

I am smiling.

A timely reminder for us all to keep a voice mail, even a text, a letter from a loved one. You never know the comfort it may bring.

A close friend died in September - I have saved her last birthday celebration that she sent me via WhatsAp. We all knew it would be her last.
