(43,182 posts)I don't have cable. Even when I had it I rarely watched movies. I've been to a theater about 35 times in my life. I only see high brow films, but there were a few Woody Allen's. I own less than 20 DVDs. To me they all have the same plot. Problem, drama, resolution. Delivered by people wealthier than me, and roughly half of them Republicans. No thank you. Fantasy is one of the reasons for the problems in America. Living in unreality won't fix them. Though I do understand the entertainment aspect and the need to relax.

(4,044 posts)These previews look awful in image clarity. So many mpg compression artifacts.
I once did an HBO add-on to Amazon Prime for the show Watchmen. It was unwatchable. Then I got the blu-ray disks. They were terrific.
Since then, I've done less streaming.

(4,044 posts)I find most of Prime to be terrible in quality. Generally, shows listed as UHD are pretty good.
The worst quality of all goes to The Walking Dead courtesy of AMC, shown on Netflix. They deliberately diminish the picture quality on that one to make it look more like an old horror movie.

(22,264 posts)I have wanted to watch it for a long time and it still hasn't jumped to Netflix, Prime or Hulu (which I already own)
We just do not want to add another channel to give us even more things to choose from. Hard enough as it is
But I really do want to check out that series.
Worst part is remembering to cancel!!!
