One of my closest friends visited China a few years ago and returned home in shock at the way infrastructure there had surpassed what we had long admired in the USA.
My comment relates to infrastructure but there are several questions related to American and Western democracy as I type.

10. "While US politicians argue over infrastructure" is a fucked up frame, especially AFTER Biden signed

Weird failing mindset to push now, don’t you think?

It's the truth. This is what exists in places folks used to laugh at. People need to see what's going on elsewhere.

14. This is democracy, and argumentation is the only way it works, and it just succeeded in a bill.

It’s far from perfect but it’s far better than how it works in China.

And that was the comparison the OP chose to make.

Mrs. So SuMe is feeding me propaganda each time I order from her restaurant Won Fook Hing . What do you have against admiration of another country's achievements ?

6. Unfavorably comparing our messy democracy to orderly Chinese authoritarianism is really fucked up.

To say nothing of doing so AFTER the bill has passed. Wtf, I wonder.

Now we can barely keep bridges from collapsing.

So it seems our political system itself isn’t the problem.

would encounter massive modern public infrastructure projects all across the country. It is just a fact, independent of whatever your opinion of their government is.

I hope we aren’t propping up China as an example of how infrastructure works. I’ve seen a few buildings collapse with dead laying in the streets during my time working and living in China from 2014-2017. Forget about the roads!! Don’t fall for glossy online pics. Go see for yourself.

Rather than debate you on this, I'm going to go sort out my sock drawer. Last thing I nullified was my cat pissing in my shoes. Don't be so myopic
