(4,999 posts)I am curious as well- I thought about getting one, but when I saw what those things cost I decided I will stick with my Dirt Devil. Especially when nothing lasts as long as it used to without breaking.

(9,291 posts)She is 3 years old now. Still works, and she goes under the dinning table to vacuum. The amount of back pain not experienced, is worth it alone. She is kinda cute. I dont know the prices anymore, but we have the basic one.

(31,111 posts)My concern is my SO will not be happy if it doesn't produce quite a bit of dirt or whatever, she will assume it is not cleaning.
Does it seem to get most of the dirt or stuff?

(9,291 posts)she keeps going until she finds most of it. You can always redirect if you see a spot. Kind of cute when she beeps and go back to her docking port. My corgi dog hates her, ha.

(11,023 posts)Works better than the older Roomba we got about 7 years ago.
The thing is you need to run them regularly - we run it every other day - and make sure you empty it regularly.
It's not something you can just do a weekly vacuum with. But it does get the pet hair up from our one floor. I'm seriously thinking about getting a second for our basement.

(401 posts)Love it!
I kinda wish it had a larger dust bin, but it works very well.
It gets corners almost perfectly, goes under the beds, and sends me a map of the vacuumed area when finished.
Added bonus - it works with Alexa. As I'm headed out to play golf, I simply ask Alexa to 'Tell Neato to clean the house'.
Mine is four years old and there is no reduction in cleaning ability.

(15,740 posts)Ecovacs Deebot OZMO 950 for upstairs, Ecovacs Deebot OZMO T8+ for downstairs.
Both do a pretty decent job -- it's interesting to watch them disappear under the beds to vacuum those places that are rarely cleaned -- although I prefer the 950 to the T8+; the T8+ has an automatic bin cleaning capability, but invariably wads of hair get stuck in the outlet ports and has to be removed by hand.
Both map out your floor plan, and both follow a pretty efficient cleaning pattern. They can get stuck on oriental carpet fringes, and they have a "mopping" capability that we haven't bothered to use yet.
There's an advertised $200 off sale for the Ecovacs N8+ at Best Buy right now; don't know how that model stacks up with the ones we have, but it probably has the same kinds of bells and whistles.

(22,069 posts)Like, from 3 oversized wooly bears? Do they clog up much?
AZSkiffyGeek
(11,023 posts)Longer than that and it tends to need me to manually clean it out. But it works great on tile/laminate floor with a couple rugs.
You also need to make sure that there are no particularly large items on the floor as those can clog it. I need to clean out the self-cleaning receptacle weekly, and clean the machine about monthly (it gets hair caught up in the wheel wells and such. But I just use my regular vacuum's hose attachment and it cleans easily.
