What's this world coming too?

Seriously, what is Thanksgiving dinner without green bean casserole?

Ugh

Hope springs eternal. Then again, I think she uses canned green beans.

Just replace the green beans with chopped broccoli and add some parm. It’s far more edible!

I like green beans, but not mucked up with Cream of Mushroom soup. I make mine with a basil, garlic and parmesan pesto.

But damn if I didn't get constant comments about how they were only edible if you slather them in bacon..

Has anyone checked out the price of bacon lately? Good heavens... Nope--garlic, olive oil-roasted veggies it is.

Replacing green bean casserole with mushroom soup and fried onions on top with brussels sprouts and broccoli flavored with garlic parmesan and *gasp* olive oil?!? ... whats next kale and hummus at the Thanksgiving table you pinkos and you'll have us watching soccer instead of red blooded American football. No wonder 'real mericans don't trust us to teach their kids in school...

Half of the family hates mushrooms. Me, I hate the grey gloop from the canned soup. Yuk! If I'm going to serve green beans, they will be in butter sauce topped with slivered toasted almonds. Broccoli is also welcome. Kale, not so much.

olive oil, salt, pepper, and a few minutes before ready, put some french-fried onions on top and let them heat through. Leaving the soup out saves 10 carbs in the casserole. I like it.
