something my Aussie/Border collie will tolerate. She's very much a "snow dog" and usually I just do the Iditarod trick and spray PAM on her feet if temps are +5F down to zero. Much below zero--especially with a lot of ice, I'll put them on, but she only barely tolerates them. Other dogs do seem to need them for even a causal walk-in light snow with barely freezing temps.


In the photos, I suspect I was seeing a lot of dogs (from their expressions) less concerned about the sweaters than the more restrictive booties (some even extending up to the hock) that several of those dogs had on. But, given how many single booties I used to see strewn along the paths and sidewalks of Denver during storms, I guess those in that series of photos must be the newer solution.
