That reminds me of the "Transformers" toys my now grown sons had, years ago. Some of the beetles in the pictures look more menacing, than the toys.

So explain the path of evolution that resulted in 17 year Cicadas. Who is counting and who picked 17. 17 is a prime number so it has that going for it. Just not buying evolution when it comes to Cicadas.
The whole caterpillar / butterfly thing is pretty wacky. Does science even understand how that magic occurs. Ok so I wrap myself in a death shroud and in a couple of days I will transform and crawl out and fly.
What is up with ants. Their societies are further evolved than ours. Bees too.
