I remember those below zero temps. I feel for you. Coldest I ever saw was -22 in an old farm house heated with a wood stove. I remember standing right next to the stove and still seeing my breath. The air sparkled that morning when I went out for wood, too. Beautiful.
Stay warm!

(23,182 posts)12 degrees warmer than yesterday at the same time. Still have not had a freeze in my area and I am worried about the insect population this summer, especially the fleas. I live right across from the river, so it has to go down to actual freezing before we get any frost here.

(23,182 posts)We live in the Mill Cove area of the river. We have lots of rivers and streams here, but the St. Johns' is the biggie, winds throughout the city. I love the egrets, herons, pelicans, Ospreys and dolphins we see on/by the river on our daily walks.

I refilled the bird feeders last night at dusk, so I wouldn't have to go out this morning until it is a little warmer. Also got the car cleared of snow. Just heard we are supposed to get another storm Friday, up to 4" All right already.
