My Word Of The Day is FANCIFIER. I know it's a word since I just read it in one of

those Reader's Digest Condensed Books that was originally published in 1981. But does
any online dictionary/thesaurus I accessed recognize this word? NO! As used in the
story I'm reading, a FANCIFIER is a person who engages in fanciful thinking. So there.

This experience just goes to show that ya can't always trust The Internet!

the word "fancifier" = "embellisher" etc. has been around for a long time, and it's been occasionally used as a synonym of "liar" as early as ca. 1930 ... but it hasn't been common.

The Mitford Girls' Guide to Life
How awful, Deborah thought, that two honest people like Muv and Farve could give life to such 'fancifiers' as Nancy and Jessica. A fancifier is a lovely name for a liar.
