Pro tip regarding coffee

Rock candy can be used if you brew some and then realize you are totally out of sugar.
I was desperate, man.

When the hell did they start flavoring rock candy?? My coffee has a weird grape flavor. I was so impressed with my own resourcefulness until I took a sip, lol!

I’m still drinking it though. I NEED that shit.

I've been known to use ice cream in my coffee when out of milk and sugar.

The soft serve machine at work gets used often when we are too lazy (or busy) to run up to the 711 for more milk (being carry out only now, we no longer order milk to have on hand for kids).

I’ve drank my coffee straight-up black since I joined the Navy nearly 50 years ago, and I don’t miss sugar at all.

I can’t do it. I’ve tried and just can’t. The jury is still out on whether I actually, truly like coffee. I love my very sweet coffee with milk. I have to brew the coffee pretty dark to stand up to the additions. And it is delicious!
(unless it’s grape flavored)

My 12-year-old granddaughter wanted to try the Greek sketos coffee (unsweetened, thick, and strong as an ox) I was making. I wish I’d recorded the look on her face when she tasted it.

and I've been drinking coffee since I was 14 (sneaking it since I was maybe 10 or 11, but don't tell my mom). There was a time when I drank it with milk only, but not for too long. Didn't work for me.

For probably the first 5 or 6 years I drank coffee, I used cream.
Then, I decided I'd rather have it plain. That was 40+ years ago. (I'm pretty much a couple cup a day guy, about one less than when I was still working.)
Funny Coffee Story:
I went to Boston to review specifications for a specialty raw material with a supplier. I went out early Sunday so I could have the day to go visit an old friend in Springfield.
Got on the turnpike & got off at the plaza to get Dunkin coffee.
I order a medium and young lady asks "Do you want that regular?". I say yes.
I'm walking out and take a sip. It was a third cream with a pound of sugar in it.
I go back in and say "I asked for regular." She says "That is regular."
Suddenly, it dawns on me "I'm in Boston, dummy!"
She just replaced it with black coffee!

I tried a splash of the peppermint creamer they were offering at 711 around the holidays. It was tasty! Just a little splash though, in addition to my usual sugar and whole milk. Mom and I were driving around looking at Christmas lights so it felt extra festive.
