the same time period. The Van Eyck "overmatches" the Angelico in its fabric, intricate designs and heavy garments that satisfies the Christian-required elements. Angeliico's treatment, while equally religious in intent, is of course Italian. I think it has, what the Italians call "fare la bella figura" in its sentiment. Very much a stylistic difference between two cultures.
