Another thread got me to thinking about the whole Will Smith/Chris Rock gossip so I wanted to start something fun just to quench my curiosity.
I find Hollywood people in general to be stupid, narcissistic, detached, entitled and spoiled brats deserving of little if any respect whatsoever. But I was trying to think of some entertainers who DO deserve my respect for reasons other than their entertainment talent.
I wanted to see if anyone else would participate and name a celebrity or entertainer that you have respect for. I'm not talking about academics who are famous, I'm talking about entertainers.
I'll start by saying that when I began thinking about it, I actually did remember more than several. But the top of my list are probably:

George Carlin
Frank Zappa

I'm so tired of this type of sweeping comment.....

We could say that about every single industry: Business executives, Doctors, Lawyers, etc.

I've lived in L.A. since 1988 and have absolutely loved it here! I've met celebrities, people who work with celebrities, and people who have nothing to do pertaining to the entertainment industry. I've developed wonderful friendships and this is my home.

I'm very insulted by your ignorant comment. I live in L.A. and have met celebrities who have been wonderful. I've also heard stories from friends who've worked with some actors and actresses who are great.

You know, maybe I jumped to a conclusion. So I'll ask again, which celebrities do you personally know who are as you described?

I think the other thing that's troubling is that it's such a "right-wing" talking point about the "horrible Hollywood Elite."
