illuminated. Turns out the ESIM needs replaced. Im thinking, no big deal, I have a lifetime full warranty. WRONG! The warranty contains a clause requiring me to have a powertrain inspection every five years. Even though the vehicle received the manufactures multipoint inspections during routine maintenance, none were dedicated powertrain inspections.
So, its going to cost me over $500.00 to install a $40.00 part because I didnt read or forgot about the inspection clause.
I did contact Chrysler and was told that they would review my situation but the rep said in all honesty they will likely deny responsibility for the repair.
Live and learn!

I have recently heard that electronic damage from the smoke terminating from wildfires may not be covered by car insurance. I've not yet had time to research the validity of that claim, but I'm starting to get really riled.

That plastic inner fender should come right out. Most are held in with plastic push pins. Take a screw drive and pop them up, the stay with the fender. Push them in you put the fender back. Replacing the ESIM unit is like changing out a headlight bulb, twist and turn.
I think you should save $500.00 (fuckers) do it yourself then go out and have a nice dinner.
we're here for ya.

(13,743 posts)And how much does that cost you. Or do they just raise the car up and take a look, transmission check, driveshaft check, rear differential check, yep, it's all there. That will be $500.00
