I am Teen sitting..

please pray for me...

I don't know how you parents do it..

My brothers wife passed away when she was 9, from liver cancer, shortly after her 31st birthday,so I try to help out whenever I can...

she just turned 13, i gave her a laptop to help out with school, she left it logged on....I am shocked at what kids are up to on social media..she is a sweet kid,but then turns into a raging mass of hormones....I need to enroll her into RADA,for all the drama I am having to deal with....

..I don't want to believe I am a old fart, but don't think I will make it past the week...

PS...I never had kids, this is making me feel like i will never want to..

everything negotiable except safety issues. They need to survive to get through it.

If our generation had those tools way back when.... what would we have done with them?

I've found Youtube videos, where she's had boys in her room

looks like it's been innocent and naive, but all the same, she is making herself a target...going to have to snitch on her to my brother..

It takes a village to raise a child....

Used to be that the town gossips knew everything. Now with electronic media, it takes creeping.

A word: if the teen you are babysitting isn't getting into trouble, let it rest. You've been doing the equivalent of reading her diary. Keep that on the down low. Some of what you're reading is braggadocio and spilling the beans to her parents will release the dogs of hell on this girl.

Unless you see drugs, drinking, sex or criminal behavior, let it go and don't be the snitch. Instead try to turn into the cool aunt she can confide in. TELL her that you KNOW stuff (and you don't have to confess to creeping, just a general "old lady" knowing ). And if she EVER needs an adult confidante - you've done it all and will be there for her. You can warn her about internet security issues in a general way but "creeping" on a teen is looked upon with great horror. Be careful to blow that link you have with your niece.

She's going to need you. And soon. 13 years old is such a difficult age for a girl...
