You can load the completed files onto a flash drive or something (I was about to show my age and say "CD-ROM" but a lot of people can't read those anymore) and pass that around.

Alternately, if you've got something that'll generate PDF you could use that.

I wouldn't recommend it to a casual user though; the learning curve is high and it's pretty expensive.

With the applications I've got on my machine, if you told me "make a slide show you don't need to go on the Web to access," I'd lay it out in QuarkXPress and generate PDF. However, if you don't do graphics for a living QXP is pretty much like using nuclear weapons to swat mosquitoes. You could PROBABLY generate PDF out of your word processor and get where you need to go. The nice thing about PDF is that everyone can read it.

We use a series of Excel spreadsheets, as well as an ancient Access database I created, to maintain our small business. You can imagine how pissed I was when free Excel went away. Libre fixed that in a flash!
