song was When You Were Sweet Sixteen, by the Fureys. My dad liked their Maggie; it must've been popular when he was young. It's not a love song, but their Green Fields of France is one of the best antiwar songs ever... it sounds like a love song! I haven't checked the internet, but their songs are probably there. If you haven't heard of them and like a romantic sound, I think you'll be happy with them.
