Bob sat down at the "retired table" in the little diner he coffeed at each morning with

a sort of smug smile on his face.

"Well," he began, "it cost me several thousand bucks, but you're lookin' at a guy with the world's most advanced "very best" hearing aid! It is wonderful!"

"What kind is it?" asked Fred.

"It's not quite 8:00 a.m." Bob replied.

My husband and I have excellent insurance but the cost of hearing
aids is not covered even though he can't hear do to a physical
condition in his ears. His hearing loss is not due to age. He's
basically deaf without the hearing aids. And, yes, they cost
thousands of dollars a year.

Sorry to be a bummer to a joke. That joke is all to real. Even
with the hearing aids, I have to yell in order to be heard
accurately. Ugh.

Now pay for Hearing AIDS now. those who live off tnhe big profits, both companies and those dispensing hearing aids were furious when chuck Grassley and Dianne Feinstein passed a bill where hearing aids could be sold across the counter. That is why you are seenng so many ads now. You really do need an expert to fit one and provide you with the latest.. blue Tooth can. Transfer the sound from your good ear to your bad now

Just be careful. You need an expert.

does pay. My husband’s vision and health insurance totally paid for his two years ago. Thing is, he has to wait three more years for his health insurance to pay for new ones, but not the vision insurance. The other thing, he/we have federal blue cross insurance. (It’s expensive, but I have several medical issues.) I think it is ridiculous that Medicare does not pay at least part of the cost.

But the ones that actually work cost around $8,000. I tried the Costco ones and Eargo online. Sent them both back.

Medicare really needs to cover hearing, vision, and dental.

Stem from those three things. Hearing loss can accelerate dementia. Dental problems create a whole mess of things. Vision too.

Cataract surgery IS covered however. And that's great. Worn glasses/lenses since I was two years old. Only need readers now.

I do not mean to be a downer on a joke, but too many think it is funny. And that makes people hesitent to admit they have a problem.

Just like Lasic has changed so much. I had glaucoma, which is pressure on the eye, causing blindness. I have a great Glaucomo specialist. She performs simple laser surgery. My pressure is perfectly normal now. They are even making glasses today that do not require all that bifocal, trifocle. I did not have that surgery to cure nearsightedness.

Your mind has to be trained to hear again. A good, trusted Audiologist can do wonders for your hearing, even have Bluetooth for an ear you cannot hear out of or the hearing is worse. You can have them put in your internet.

I just got a new IPad. It was not programmed in I went to settings, linked it. I had to Fuentes my TV way down. get advice from your friends, do not quit. I am amazed how good the new ones are.

Many millennials are losing their hearing now. It is not just old people.

but with them my friends only have to tell me 2-3 times what time it is. Seriously, even very expensive hearing aids ( yup I was lucky enough to be able to afford fairly good ones) are only so good. Everyone hears differently so that what we hear or don't hear as our hearing deteriorates is different for each of us. I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry at this joke, but it sure sounds normal to me.
