Got my 9 euro train ticket for June

I had to head out to see my neurologist today. Time to get my every other year electrocution and hammering.
They send electrical pulses from my knees and elbows to my toes and fingers. Fun stuff. Twitch twitch. They measure the attenuation and speed. The hammer is for all the reflex points. Always fun. It seems like I haven't changed, and balance is good.
I figured my balance was good since I can ride my bike very slowly and just barely do a track stand.

On the way I noticed some of the papers headlines about the chaos create trying to get the 9 euro train tickets out before June. I had to pay on the bus because my wife used the last stripes on the bus cards we had. While I was trying to get my usual stripe card I notice a yellow button for the special cards.

Any way on the way home from the doctor I picked up 3 of them on the ride home. So much for chaos.

For June, July and August we will save about 125 euro for my daughters transportation costs. I'll save about 60 and my wife will save about double mine. So about 300 euro in savings plus greater range. What a deal.

There was a special line for people wanting to get their 9 Euro tickets in advance. It wasn't too long, maybe six or seven people, but that was at 7 AM. The German train system was incapable of getting me from my town to Düsseldorf in an hour (the trip takes 16 minutes) and I had missed my 6:21 train to München. So, I was in line for a new train reservation, not for a 9 euro ticket.

Feelings are mixed here about the 9 euro ticket, depending on anticipations. Some see a bargain, some see overcrowded trains and a surge in Covid infections. I'm sure pickpockets see a banner summer. They have a lot of lost time to make up for.

As long as I get to where I want to be going, and don't have to stand up the whole way, and don't need to fight to leave a train with everything I had when I entered it, I'm happy.

if I will be going anywhere special on the trains. It will be more convenient not to have to worry about having the correct fare or stripe numbers. I may go to smaller towns near by for day trips. Or down to the lakes. I don't think I will want to take the regional trains any real distance because of the time involved. Plus we have a trip to London to deal with early July.

Weekdays shouldn't be too bad except during the school breaks, and the German states stagger them. We leave for our USA odyssey in late June anyway- My wife will be returning at the end of July, but I will be stuck in the USA until the end of August.
