Talking about the shoes. Everybody and his brother keeps telling me how comfortable they are. Nurses and doctors wear them! etc.
I was gifted a pair for Christmas, and around my house theyre just OK
I wore them to the grocery store this morning and holy moly I couldnt wait to get home and take them off, they were so uncomfortable.
On edit: They will be going to the rummage sale at the church down the street.

(2,510 posts)Don't get it.
Around here, "you might be a redneck" if you wear crocs.

(13,571 posts)Very comfy.
Maybe I'll get some again. I mostly wear padded sox these days, at home.

(21,185 posts)Ugly shoes.
I brought a rip off pair at a swap meet once and never wore them because I was talked into buying them. When I see kids wearing them at school during PE I want to scream!

(4,085 posts)my crocs are 'inside' shoes like houseslippers (there is zero arch support)
my Birkenstock have arch support and in Germany considered like orthopedic shoes,,,, they are for outside wear
I have always worn 'ugly' shoes!!
kimbutgar
(21,185 posts)I admit it and rarely wear flip flops because I broke my foot at 22 wearing a pair.
But I wont hold it against because Ive known a lot of great people who wore crocs and Birkenstocks! My mother was a shoe person who wouldnt be caught dead in them!

(27,170 posts)I would never wear them.
Of course, due to my severe arthritis, I cannot wear any shoes but Brooks Adrenaline.
So, I really have no business commenting on fashion choices.

(8,059 posts)and one pair just for inside that stays clean. They're not for looks, they're for comfort and convenience. I hate flip flops. I don't want to see people's feet, frankly. Edit to add: don't care if I'm the last person who ever wears them, I will never not have them.

(7,335 posts)i normally go barefoot indoors, so i keep a pair of cheap knock-off-crocs by the door for stepping outside. It's all dirt around here, so plastic shoes hose off well.
That said, I never wear them when I go anywhere.
CottonBear
(21,596 posts)I wear flip flops inside. I hate being barefoot. I will be getting a new pair of knockoff crocs to wear when I have socks on inside, because I never walk around with my socks on, because I hate getting dog hair on my socks. And, yes I vacuum frequently.

(26,289 posts)Not sure if they are authentic or a knock off. I suspect the 2nd. They are comfortable, convenient, and easy to clean.

(5,271 posts)At least I was able to try on my sis-in-law's and neice's at beach vacation years ago so I knew they weren't comfortable for me.
Spouse on the other hand has at least 4 pairs, even rides bike and does some hikes with them Yikes!

(2,225 posts)And they are comfy to my feet and the charms you can stick in the holes are cute and fun. They remind me of the clogs I used to wear in my much younger days. The summer shoes I love now are called Dawgs. Found them a few years ago on Groupon and have several pairs of them now. The material is very similar to Crocs and they have good arch support for my hurting feet and are comfy to walk in. They come in all kinds of really cute designs, too!!

(1,851 posts)When I was a tiny lad, we somehow acquired a pair of real wooden shoes, Dutch Clogs.
Likely from a relative's trip to the Netherlands.
They're the only shoes I've liked less than Crocs.
That said, I might try Crocs again the next time I'm walking an unkempt
beach with lots of rocks and tar and seaweed. No reason to get nice
sandals covered in tar.

(16,386 posts)They make several types of shoes and they don't all look like the typical Crocs. I have a pair of black pumps that are made by Crocs, as well as some blue suede clogs and all of them are attractive and super comfy.
Diamond_Dog
(32,052 posts)My feet are on the narrow side and if I wear my usual size in Crocs they are waaay too wide, so I have to buy a size smaller for the width and then the shoe rubs on the top of my foot. They just dont work for me, Im afraid. I am glad others here like them.
