When the tow-truck driver arrived he asked the customer, "what's wrong with your car?".
The driver answered "Nothing, I just realized it's cheaper to renew my membership than fill my tank".

(53,776 posts)station within radius limit or you pay for tows past that radius. I've had AAA for years. It's a good service to have.

(24,284 posts)they will tow you 100 miles. One time my wife flew into Sacramento and left her car keys at her sister's house in Los Angeles. So I was going to drive a key to her and she said AAA was already on the scene and will just tow the car home on his flatbed. The trip was 108 miles. I think I had to pay $1.50 a mile for the eight miles.

(53,776 posts)Or was it 8 miles? You mentioned two distances.
Mr.Bill
(24,284 posts)The first 100 were free, I had to pay for the last eight. I woiuldn't doubt they will raise their prices if gas remains high, but until my current membership expires, I have a contract that says they will tow me 100 miles. I pay extra for this service because The nearest Nissan dealership is about 85 miles from here, and if it was warrany work that is where I would have to take it. Maybe Nissan would reimburse AAA for the tow if it was warranty work, but I'm not sure.
