Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI find this very interesting. Re: Being attracted to other people.
I'm not talking about sexual attraction NECESSARILY.
I tend to converse with a lot of people whom I don't know, in public.
Sometimes you just have the opportunity to start shooting the shit with someone.
Usually these conversations just start with a look, or a smile, anything.
Maybe you think the person has a kind face, a warm smile, whatever. You are somehow attracted to their being. Maybe you despise tattoos in general, but this person has some really interesting and beautiful tattoos, so you are drawn to that person. You are curious. Could be anything that attracts you to them. Maybe they remind you of your Uncle or something. Anything.
They may be a person of the same gender as you, or a different gender. You may be old, they may be young. Whatever.
So, you start shooting the breeze with this person, and you're getting these nice social tingles because this person is actually fascinating you! You're getting a nice warm feeling. Gee, maybe you made a new friend!
Hey, maybe after Covid calms down, we can grab lunch. And then you say, Yeah, I'd like that! And then they pull out their purse or wallet and show you this great picture of their kids, or their dog, and you say I HAVE THE SAME BREED OF DOG! OMG! Or, my kid is the same age as your kid! And you both start giggling, fist bumping, etc.
And how now you're on top of the world for having met this person. Your day has been made. Maybe things aren't so bad after all. There are some good people left in the world!
OK, see ya later! Talk to you soon! Thanks for giving me your number!
And you are in a position to see them walk to their car, and you notice that there is a red baseball cap with with white lettering laying on their dashboard?
And then your mind goes into some primal state of being, and all you can manage to think is:
FUUUU FFUUUUCKKKK YOU!!!!

(5,172 posts)Then asked what they thought about the recent Supreme Court rulings, and then full on crazy talk began with Biden this and Polosi that, so I said look the information you have been told is to manipulate you to vote and work against your own interests. Then, I finished the conversationsation with Google the Republican platform, do you use Social Security and Medicare? Well, if they are working for the people then why do the want to end those programs?
Then, have a nice day.

(10,207 posts)Those people are so oblivious to what the rethugs actually do, they vote on their emotions. Or religious brliefs, and they are blind there too. How could a religious person vote for TFG?

(9,481 posts)I don't know if there is any constructive conversation to be had with a Red Hat who's first word after Nancy Pelosi or Kamala Harris is "See you next Tuesday".
