For everyone hitting the road this weekend...THE best driving song.

Not the best quality video, but the only one I could find of this 1973 performance. As in the official music video, the band still had long hair. They'd all cut their hair, some of them drastically, by the time they appeared on American TV in 1974.

I liked the way they looked with long hair.

2. That was our "Breakaway Song" of the Destroyer I rode long ago.

Our Ops-Intel division operated the radars, so it had a special meaning for us.

7. USS Barney DDG-6.

She was a terrible beauty, a true Man O'War. We earned her 4th Battle "E", and her first Naval Expeditionary Medal while crewing her.
