On Mondays a restaurant across the street from my place has a sort of car show, and those who bring in old cars get $5 off their dinner.

That's what I thought. The 289 was awesome. I've got a 390 in my '68 Galaxie fastback.

Most of the 64 Falcons still had the 260 v-8. 289 wasn't offered in the Falcon until late 64.

would that by any chance be a rare '64 Falcon Sprint with the 289 v-8? Even though I prefer European cars from the '60s, I've always been partial to that model, even more than the Mustang.

So most of the 64 Falcon Sprints as well as all of the 63 1/2 Sprints had the smaller 260 v-8. Even some of the 64 Mustangs, Fairlanes, and Mercury Comets had the 260 v-8 engine.
