(3,409 posts)grateful to have a home. Like fine wine and people, they tend to get better with age. Thanks for posting the video

(35,689 posts)I said I wanted an older cat. I found a great cat who is just right for me, though I didn't know it at the time. I am convinced cats and humans are destined for each other, just like some people are.
Big surprise when I went to complete the paperwork: no adoption fee! I gave it as a donation, anyway, but if anyone is pressed for cash and wants a cat, keep that in mind.

(7,114 posts)He lived another 9 years, so he was about 18 when we had to put him down. He was hilarious -- the biggest character of kitty I've ever met. I miss him so much every day.
I second the recommendation about adopting older kitties!

(20,876 posts)She used to hang-out around the dumpster.
They called her "Garbage Can" as a name.
So sad.
Seems her human had died and left her on her own.
She was very old, perhaps 20 or more. She'd been hit by a car or something and was crippled up badly. I adopted her anyway.
She lived for a couple of years and I found out she had a name, it was "Baby".
She was so happy to have a home!
No regrets here that's for sure!
& recommend.
are a gem.
I am so happy that Baby found a loving home in her last years.

(20,876 posts)My other cats ignored her for the most part.
She stayed away from them and kept to herself.
She loved to lay by the wood stove as it kept her warm.
When she died, I buried her. I remember digging the hole in fact and crying while I did it.
Baby was loved a lot during her long life.
She sure was treasure!
I'd do it again. It was so worth it!
