(46,709 posts)It only happened once for me, but it was very, very cool.
I dream in color all the time.

(24,262 posts)San Francisco. I'm fine until I land then I get lost. I can't recall ever dreaming in anything but color.

(23,542 posts)I didn't have much control. But, it felt so good. It was soooo much fun. I have also had dreams where when I walk I can control very short flying motions and it also was a lot of fun. I wish I would have those dreams more often or remember them more if I am having them.

(53,956 posts)Why my brain feels the need to subtitle, I couldn't explain. Thought, sometimes my dreams are in a language I don't know or understand, and thus the subtitles, which makes sense...sort of.

(25,771 posts)At times my flying dreams have been so real that they leave me with the sensation during waking hours that I could actually fly.

Unfortunately, I have not had a flying dream in a long time. I wish they would come back.

(23,272 posts)Can't even remember where the classroom is located... I HATE that dream.
Haven't had one in decades but my "flying" dreams were on a swingset and I'd jump off when I was at the highest point of the arc. I'm falling through the air - definitely NOT flying.
Then there's the ones where I'm having sex with completely inappropriate people
I always dream in color.

(46,709 posts)My dreams are usually about traversing through hallways, (schools and dorm rooms) and Malls. Except, I know the narrow corridors represent journeys, challenges and/or a combination of time and human interactions.

(5,670 posts)Hate it. My flying ones are that I can move by jumping and soaring and then jumping as though I am lighter than air. Very real. Love it.

(27,597 posts)Sometimes I realize I'm dreaming and decide to fly around for fun. Just now zombies were after me and I thought it was real. I guess I didn't think about flying away because I was protecting my family. I am the only one who can fly, you see. I couldn't sleep after that so here I am.

(36,432 posts)I don't remember flying, but I often jump down mountains and hills in my dreams. I was an exceptional glissader in my youth, and I guess I notched it up a bit in my dreams. I simply run and leap and let gravity carry me down. I stretch and arch like I'm doing a long jump landing and I never touch touch the earth. Funny, with all my jumping down slopes, I have no memory of even landing.

(41,205 posts)I once dreamt that I was re-reading 'Jane Eyre' and there was a passage about someone getting into trouble for sending e-mails about drug-taking. In my dream I thought 'But did they have e-mails in the 19th century?' and went back to the passage to re-read it, but the reference to e-mails was still there.

(1,827 posts)the one that always gets me though is the feeling of "falling". especially if you are dozing and not fully asleep. I dont know how many times i've violently jerked because i thought i was falling off a couch or bed.

(41,205 posts)A lot of my dreams are mainly about conversations; but I have some dreams which are basically just about seeing objects, and the colour is very salient in those dreams: one recent dream was all about pink balloons, and another was about watching ten white ducks.

(32,083 posts)Many of my flying dreams involve trying to fly around high tension power lines. I also have dreams where I can jump hundreds of feet into the air, although those also come with being afraid I won't come back down. Those still beat the my dreams of being in elevators that have the tendency to get stuck between floors, or even worse, drop several floors in free-fall.

(19,835 posts)And I've had this many times. I can fly but only over waterfront areas like over the sand at the beach. If I veer off over nearby grassy areas I gently descend to the ground but I can take off again if I run toward the beach.
