One common "tell" is if you're talking to a woman while sitting down, and she starts bouncing her leg. Humans don't have tails (dammit) but the jittery leg is the next best thing. Not a 100% tell, obviously, so you still should use other context clues a/o your personal judgment. But nervous twitches in a friendly social situation are generally a good sign.

When you ask a woman (or man) out, you have to just put yourself into a "it's worth a shot, I won't take it personally" mindframe. Screw signs.

But signs themselves are not as rewarding.

Seriously, this post wasn't supposed to be serious. I just thought it was a funny picture. As it happens, I already have a girl and she doesn't let me ask out women on dates. Can you believe?

and I find a post that is not serious. Who'da thunk!

I did mean it about just going for it----to whoever cares. But not for you, Bucky. One woman is enough for any man with a lick of sense. You girl is just protecting you.

A girl I knew slightly told me she was leaving for China the next day. We were in a dark, crowded cabaret in West Berlin. She then told me I should meet her girlfriend. I said, sure, where was she? She said, "right next to me," and leaned
back. I saw this absolutely lovely tall woman with the most captivating smile and intriguing body language, and thought
"oh yes, I should."

But I also thought, from past experience, yeah, sure, as if a nerd like me would ever have a shot with a woman like her.

But finally, I thought to myself, what do you have to lose? Even women like her end up with SOMEBODY, so why NOT me?

We have been together for the last 38 years.

If it isn't gonna happen, she'll let you know in no uncertain terms. Until then, though, never say never.
